I recently had the privilege to talk with a friend of mine, Andrew Ratchford about The Response event that will be held next month in SC.

He took the time to answer a few of my questions about the event. Below are his responses.

Brian: How did you get involved with The Response? Why?

Andrew: Curtis Carr from Greenville House of Prayer asked me to share some ideas about how to promote the event. I believe in The Response since it is a grassroots national prayer movement with focus on our nation’s future and the kingdom of God.

B: What is the background of The Response/ How did it get started, what is their mission?

A: Texas Governor Rick Perry called for a day of prayer on August 6, 2011 and The Response was mobilized to meet 40,000 in Houston, TX and more than 100,000 unique simulcast sites.

B: What motivates you to be a part of events like this?

A: When people experience a personal encounter with God they experience revival but when many of those saints unite a country can experience a national awakening thats even bigger than revival. The Response is a real grassroots movement of the Church at large.

B: What do you hope this event will do in the City of Greenville?

A: I hope that this event will Unite the Church of Greenville to that of South Carolina and the rest of the nation in prayer and make the secular world aware that the Church is unified behind principles despite discontinuity about political candidates and public policy.

B: What kind of speakers are coming?

A: There will be many  ethnically and denominationally diverse leaders from across the state that will be praying. They will be praying all throughout the event

B: How can we be praying right now for what will happen in Greenville on the 17th of January?

A: Pray that the churches in Greenville and across the State will be willing to unite as the Church. South Carolina has a huge chance to speak out this next month and the church needs to unite its voice.

B: If somebody wanted to tell others how can they spread the word?

A: Facebook at facebook.com/TheResponseSC

Twitter @TheResponseUSA and hashtag #responseSC

Website: theresponseusa.com/south-carolina/spread-the-word.php

Talk about the event. Tell your friends. Tell your pastors.

B: How can churches get involved?

A: Churches can take the resources on the website to promote.

Churches can show the videos that we have on the website. They can also Post/Pass out flyers that we have on the website as well.

They can register to be a simulcast site at http://theresponseusa.com/south-carolina/

They can promote the event and hold a prayer session at their church in their city the day of the event. Jan 17 from 7-9pm

B: How can people get more information and sign up to be a part of The Response?

A: They can visit us online at: www.theresponseusa.com/south-carolina/

I hope that you will consider being a part of The Response in Greenville SC on January 17th at the TD Convention Center.
