Session Notes: Christine Caine
Caine: Jesus sent us into the world to do what He did-to allow us to be interrupted so He could bring healing and resurrection.
When divine interruptions happen, lives are transformed.
It’s easy to ignore suffering when it’s nameless and faceless.
I signed up to follow Jesus so I could go out into the world and make disciples of the nations.
I didn’t sign up to be a follower of Jesus so I could be a professional Christian speaker.
Jesus often interrupts our lives to transform.
What wouldn’t I do if that was my girl? My family member? Your child
You wouldn’t care what you looked like, you wouldn’t care about what you would have to give. You would do it to help them.
There are more slaves on the Earth today than EVER before in the history of humanity.
5 years ago, I didn’t even know that human trafficking still existed.
Caine is reading from Luke 10:30.
Surely God wants to use rescued people to rescue people.
Compassion is never compassion until you cross the street and go and do something now.
What I love about Do Something Now is that we’re not just highlighting an issue, but that you have an opportunity to cross the street
I found out at 33 that my brother was adopted
My brother confronted my Mom. She just started crying and said ‘We never thought you’d find out.
Then I found out that I had been adopted too. I was stunned.
But we who have been rescued have a responsibility to rescue lost and broken people.
There’s a reason we need to arise. Because there’s a world that is broken
God’s truth says that we are His workmanship.
Jesus is showing us that it’s not just us in this room, but that there are people who are bound and held captive all around the world
…and if together we do something now, we can bring hope and rescue to a generation.
Those 27 million slaves in the world are not a number. How will they ever know that if we don’t do something now?
We are going to stand for Freedom in the name of Jesus Christ.
I pray that your life is interrupted today.
A million is a statistic until you meet one. Then they are a person.
Safety, comfort, and security are not the goals of Christianity. Freedom is.
Do Something Now is our opportunity to shine our light in the midst of darkness.
We don’t need to fear what Christ defeated. We don’t need to fear the darkness. We need to shine our light into the darkness.
We will dispel the darkness with the hope of Jesus.
Every one of us has the responsibility to do something to bring freedom to wherever there is injustice.
Louie walks back on stage to pray.
Louie is talking about the charity organizations A21 and Wellspring
