Louie walks out and welcomes everyone.

Louie: 48 hours ago, I was standing over here on the sideline of the CFA Bowl. 24 hours ago, the Falcons were playing But the whole time I was saying to Chris.. this ain’t nothing. This ain’t nothing. These are going to be amazing days. We are just so glad that you’re here. Apparently there’s a lot of people who love Jesus in America. It’s so awesome. It’s so beautiful.

We have so many new songs God has given us for this moment right here, we had to start right off the bat.

Passion is not an event. It’s not a concert. Passion is simply defined in one word – Jesus. We came here for one name and one name alone and that’s the name JESUS.

LiveAtPassionLouie invites Brad Jones out onto the stage as he explains the prayer triangles. #Passion20121/2/12 7:58 PM

Prayer Triangle – 1. Praising the name of Jesus, and lifting His name up. 2. Asking God’s presence to be in this place. Ask him to come visit us.

Louie: We believe right now that we are standing on holy ground. We aren’t standing on a football field, but we are standing on Your earth. We have come with your word in our heart for 15 days..the proclamation of your praises over this dome. We realize who we are and who you are..and there is a gap between us. We thank you Jesus that you have made it possible for people like us to come right into the presence of the creator of the universe. We come in awe, we come in full recognition that the your word and power were made by things that weren’t. You needed no-one to do everything you have done. You put your son in harms way so that you would be exalted..in the power of the resurrection of the power of Christ, we come. Nothing can come against us because You are for us. Come in our midst and come with your power and take over this place and these days. That is our hope and our prayer.

LiveAtPassionYou have brought together everything we see. We praise you tonight because of YOU. #Passion20121/2/12 8:06 PM

Louie: More slaves presently living out their lives in any other time of human history. God hates slavery. We have come here to partner with six organizations. Through these days we are going to see God do something amazing.

Take a look at the Freedom film we’ve shot over the past several months

THE FREEDOM FILM SEG. 1  Give to FREEDOM HERE

This year at Passion 2012, we want to bring this darkness into the light. We long to wrap our arms around those who are hurting and help bring an end to modern day slavery in the name of Jesus. Together, we will lend our voice to the 27 million who have no voice and do everything we can to fight for freedom. During the four days of the conference, our goal is to raise $1 million to fund incredible organizations that are fighting to bring prevention, freedom, and restoration to those trapped in slavery.
Get more information about the causes.

We thought Slavery was a thing of the past. We haven’t been paying attention.

Freedom – Indifference is not an option.

These 27 Million people have gone un-noticed for far too long

Raman, India. Born into Bonded Slavery. The rice would be fried by the afternoon and we’ve had to haul it out.

Slavery is still happening. What will we do to stop it?

Louie: So that’s exactly what we’re going to do. We’re going to raise our voice in a tangible way.  Passion is for college students, and they tell us you are going to do what! With college students? We’ve pledged to raise $1 million dollars during the 4 days of #Passion2012

I hope that you came prepared, but if you didn’t let God take control of your heart. Don’t be one of those people that say it’s not just again giving.  We have the

God not only has a message for people trapped in slavery tonight, but he has a message for you too.

6) “Love the World has Never Known” - Chris Tomlin with Christy and choir backup NEW SONG

Christy Prays

We believe that You called us here. We are so excited to see what you are going to do in this moment. As a generation we consider it the highest honor, the privilege of our lives, to love You Jesus.

7) “How I Love You, Jesus”- Christy leads NEW SONG

Louie Giglio is a pastor (Passion City Church, Atlanta), speaker and founder of the Passion Movement.

Session Notes:

Isn’t it weird how you can hear a song like that and feel like you’ve been singing it your whole life? I Love it!

Question: Is there anyone here that you feel have something in Your life needs to be brought back to life again?

There has been a lot of thought about the dome, but the thought for us has been the dome plus the dorm.

What you are setting in this dome, is phenomenal. It is not the doing of Passion, God has brought you together.

We think being in the Dome is incredible, but… if what happens in here doesn’t trickle back to your lives, what’s the point?

We got people in one place, but the goal has been that real change would happen on your campus, and that has been our heartbeat.

We set in motion this thing called passion that people would have this mindset that they would make one Name famous.

Is the name of Jesus going to echo out of this place. Back to your boyfriend, your campus. Is the name of Jesus going to echo to the nations of the world.

Luke 7 - 16 They all realized they were in a place of holy mystery, that God was at work among them. They were quietly worshipful-and then noisily grateful, calling out among themselves, “God is back, looking to the needs of his people!”17 The news of Jesus spread all through the country.

That is the dream. If we treat this like some big spectacle then we will miss it. They were quietly worshipful. Noisily Grateful – God is BACK! So that’s what we want to have happen. We get there by going to the beginning of the story in Luke 7

The mother was a widow. When Jesus say her, his heart broke. He said to her, “Don’t cry.”  Jesus went over and touched the coffin. The pallbearers stopped. He said, “Young man, I tell you: GET UP!”

There is a story going on, that could have went either way. He first says to her don’t cry, and then touches the coffin, this is hope at the very end. She isn’t in good shape financially on thin ice. It’s not a coffin like you would thing, it was more than likely like a stretcher, and on the stretcher was being carried out a low-class burial.

He came at that day at this moment. I believe God has come at this moment in this building to come and intersect some of our funeral processions.

We had it at this season in your life. If there are any funeral processions going on in your life, Jesus is here just at the right time.

That symbol is symbolic. Some things are leading us to our death. For some its a relationship. It’s carrying you out of town and to your death. For some it is a misunderstanding of Jesus. Somebody that you can manage or control. You have misunderstood reality of a risen Lord. It only works when He’s everything we are fully surrendered to Him. Anything less is not Christianity, it’s not real faith. What it means to link up with His purposes on earth it’s leading you to death.

You’ve denied the power that raised Jesus from the dead.

Some of us that stretcher is our sin. You have tried to control it. The reality is clear, it’s leading you out. To a whole in the ground. The stitcher could be a wound, something happened to you and you haven’t let Jesus do fully His power to heal. It’s spewing out bitterness..you have yet to receive the word of God. “I am for you, I will restore you. I will put your life back together again. I am yours and you are mine.” Let the word of God free you!!

The cross of God is bigger than it all. Rise up from the ashes.

Even though you are here, you are being carried out of town. His plan is so simple you can write it on a 3×5 card. The enemies plan STEAL KILL DESTROY

There aren’t going to be any funerals here tonight. God has the ability to raise the dead.

What is this story saying?

It’s telling us something about Jesus and something that I love. Jesus came on as a teacher. He knew He was Gods plan. He knew that he was going to blow everyone’s mind when he put His hand on a stretcher…saying could you just stop right there.

Jesus knows what He came to do. He’s got no problem walking into your funeral procession and saying stop right there. Don’t let the enemy convince you that this is for everyone else in the building and not you. This is for you.

Majesty stepping into the mess. Christ stepping into our dearth. Saying stop and speaking these words “I say to you Get up”

This text is proclaiming the gospel. Jesus raises the dead. It was Christ giving up His life to atone for the wrongs of our lives.

The gospel at it’s heart is a resurrection from the dead.

Eph. 2:1 – We weren’t dead. We weren’t unchurched, we were dead. We didn’t need a bailout, we were dead.

“Because of His great love for us, God who is rich in mercy, made us alive in Christ. It is by grace you have been saved.”

Jesus stepped into this funeral procession. He was telling the gospel.

What the religious leaders couldn’t do. God could do.

By faith alone we put trust in Jesus Christ and in that moment God births in us everlasting life.

The gospel is about who you are trusting for your life right now.

It’s no accident that you’re here. God has brought you here by His plan because he wants to intersect your funeral.

The theme of the ATL falcons that play football in this building, “RISE UP”. It’s time to know that there isn’t going to be a funeral here for you tonight, because Jesus is here at the right time. Grace is here, just at the right now. There is a hand that can stop this madness and a voice that is calling you back to life again.

At the end of this story, it’s not just that they are embracing and hugging at the end at the house. She’s thrilled. The story ends with the news of Jesus spreading through the countryside. The news of Jesus, not the news of the boy, spread through the whole country.

What’s at steak in these days, is how God wants to raise up hope for the country.

What is in an name? A town with the name that means beauty. In the midst of a funeral God came to place called beauty. To use the language of the prophets, Jesus wants to crown you with beauty.

I just want to pray over anybody tonight who is willing to say, “I need to be brought back to life tonight.

Awake sleeper and rise from the dead. Christ will shine on you. It’s not just about you. it’s about your future, your kids, grandchildren, the nations. That’s whats at stake today. I’m so glad that Jesus is here because He raises the dead.

I invite you to stand if that’s you… if you need Jesus to intersect in your funeral procession tonight. Stand wherever you are so we can pray for you. There are NOT going to be any funerals tonight.

Louie Prays: I thank You that You have intersecting funerals.

Lord, you see these people standing. Top to bottom. I thank you that this is the day that the Lord has made.

I pray that they will let You do in them what only You can do. I thank You that You have defeated sin in the flesh. I thank You that You birth sons and daughters to life. Come.

Post Speaking Song List:

1. “Revive Me” – Christy Knockles with Tomlin and choir backup NEW SONG

2. “We Surrender” – Chris Tomlin leads with Christy, and Stanfill and choir backup NEW SONG

Louie: Who is up for raising the white flag of surrender? It doesn’t bring defeat, it brings life.

Louie explains what Passion community groups are all about and how to head out.

David*Crowder Band is going to be playing live at The Dome at 11:30 ET

Wow! Those are some detailed notes! Thanks for sharing them!

    • http://lifexpresseddigitally.me Brian Alexander

Yea, I have found that it is easy to take notes when I have twitter pulled up with the #Passion2012 hashtag that I can just rip quotes off from. Also i’m not really there live. I am just watching the sessions that are streaming online. (Makes it easier to write stuff down on a computer, vs pen and paper)

  • Sarah

Thanks so much for sharing! Especially since they just took down the link to session one. This is great!

    • http://lifexpresseddigitally.me Brian Alexander

No problem Sara! One of the main reasons that I put these notes up is for others to benefit from them who don’t have the chance to attend, catch it online, or during the replay of each session. I hope that you will take what you learned here and let God rock your world through His word some way.

I am not sure what that might look like, but I know if God’s in the middle of it, then it will blow your mind and be bigger than anything you can imagine. :)

Oh, and thanks for visiting the blog, how did you find me? (Curious)

  • Lailan

are your notes verbatim? If so, AMAZING!!! I caught only session 1 and 2 and can’t seem to find 3 or 4.. Thanks so much! This is such a blessing to read..

    • http://lifexpresseddigitally.me Brian Alexander

Thanks Lailan, my notes are pretty verbatim. Most of the session notes area is taken from tweets that have been posted on twitter, but I include my own notes in there as well. I hope it’s a blessing to people who aren’t able to catch the sessions like yourself. Session 4 should still be online here: http://live.268generation.com/all-sessions/.

  • Gavin

Thanks for the posts! This is an awesome way to review all the wonderful things from this week!

    • http://lifexpresseddigitally.me Brian Alexander

No problem Gavin, I will be compelling them all together in a nice cohesive format (E-Book/PDF) and posting on the site next week for people to download.

      • Coard

Fantastic. If you don’t mind, send me an email when you get the PDF/e-book finished. I went, and I’d love to have these to check out when I’ve got a moment. Thanks, and hello from Newspring Church!

        • http://lifexpresseddigitally.me Brian Alexander

Coard, thanks for the comment. I’ll try to remember, but the best way for you to be notified is if you are following me on Twitter or friend me on Facebook. I don’t mind having random friends…I’m getting my brother to edit the notes, and then he’s going to design the E-Book for me. I hope to have it uploaded and posted next week.

          • Albert Smarowsky

I was looking for the E-Book, but haven’t seen a link yet on the site. Have you been able to get it up? I watched Passion online, and it was so amazing.
